Simple Assault (N.J.S. 2C: 12-1)

Since Belmar is a nighttime hotspot and the bars are often crowded, simple assault is written regularly. Simple assault simply means that you have attempted to cause or purposely, willingly, or knowingly caused bodily harm to another person. You can also be charged with simple assault if you negligently cause injury with a deadly weapon or you put another person in fear of imminent physical harm.
